Reporting – General
Why can't I report negative wages for a member in a wage report to correct a previous reporting period?
Earnings help determine your employees' IPERS benefits. Corrections to previously reported wages must be made on a Wage Reporting Adjustments form so the correction is made to the correct reporting period.
Why do I have to send in a wage report or a Wage Report Due Date Change Form for months when I have no wages to report?
If IPERS does not get a wage report from an employer, we do not know if it is due to an oversight, a problem with the mail, or if there were actually no wages for the month. Getting a report or form from all employers each month—whether there are wages to report or not—helps us ensure that members get credit for all wages earned.
Why do I have to send in a zero remittance form?
If IPERS does not receive a monthly remittance from an employer, we do not know if it is due to an oversight, a problem with the mail, or if there was actually no need for a remittance for the month in question. Communicating with IPERS even when you do not have contributions to remit helps avoid reconciliation problems later on. |
