Investment Policy

Smart, well-articulated policies and goals are essential for any organization like IPERS that is tasked with managing investments for their stakeholders’ future. Policies guide action and action results in returns on investment that help keep the IPERS Trust Fund healthy.

Investment Policy and Goal Statement. The nuts and bolts of IPERS’ Investment Policy, including asset allocation, policy benchmarks, use of investment consultants and managers, responsibilities of the Board, and more.

Investment Manager Monitoring and Retention Policy. A systematic, consistent, and rational framework for investment manager retention and termination decisions.

Real Estate Investment Policy. Sets the investment criteria and performance objectives for the real estate portfolio.

Private Equity/Debt Investment Policy. Sets the investment criteria and performance objectives for the private equity/debt portfolio.

IPERS Ethics Policy. Code of Ethics for regulating conduct of Investment Board members, IPERS staff, contractors, and agents.

Securities Monitoring and Litigation Policy. Sets the criteria for determining how IPERS will proceed to recover investment losses caused by fraud and other misconduct related to the purchase and sale of its financial assets.
