Administrative Rules

Administrative rules provide more detail about how the federal and state laws will be implemented. IPERS follows a rulemaking process used by all state agencies that the Iowa Legislature oversees.

IPERS Administrative Code (IPERS rules contained in 495). Read the rules that have been adopted by IPERS to implement federal and state laws.

Pending and Past Rulemaking Procedures. Get a summary of what rules were adopted when and any changes to the rules being considered.

IPERS’ Regulatory Plan. Review what IPERS has planned for the current year.
