Use the Table of Contents to navigate through the HandbookIPERS Member Handbook

This handbook contains detailed explanations of the rights and benefits of IPERS membership.

When Should I Use the Handbook? Good question! This book is a good resource for those interested in the details of the IPERS plan, as governed by state and federal laws. Although our handbook is written in “plain English” and does not cover every legal requirement governing IPERS, it provides clear explanations and some legal terms.

If you’re looking for quick links to benefit information, from enrollment to retirement and beyond, you may find the Benefit Information links on this Web site more helpful.

How Can I Get a Printed Copy? Your employer may have copies of the handbook. If not, you may open the pdf version of the plan and print the contents of the handbook.

The Member Handbook has not been updated to reflect July 2008 legislative changes. See Inside IPERS for a summary of the changes.
