PDS State Employee Training

State employees may attend retirement planning classes offered through the Iowa Performance & Development Solutions, or PDS. Representatives from several retirement-related programs participate, including the state’s Deferred Comp Program, Social Security, Medicare, and IPERS.

IPERS Building

Time: 8:30 a.m.–3:30 p.m.  
Class Description: Understand the dynamics of your retirement benefits by learning how Social Security, Medicare, Medicare supplemental insurance, long term care insurance, deferred compensation, and IPERS work together. The class is designed to provide you with a broad range of information you need as you near retirement.

Long-Range Retirement Planning
(for members 5+ years from retirement)
Day: To be determined IPERS Building
Time:    
Class Description: Get motivated about achieving a secure financial future and meeting retirement goals by learning the steps you need to take and the resources you can use. You will receive information from financial counselors and representatives from Social Security, deferred compensation plans, and IPERS.
