Your New Employees

Your new employees can learn about IPERS in the following video.

New employees who are also new members of IPERS will receive a Welcome to IPERS booklet in the mail along with a letter that includes their member ID number and My Account username. You can help new members by providing them with a New Member Brochure.

New members will be encouraged to go to My Account and designate a beneficiary. This is the most efficient method. Employees who prefer to use a paper form can download it from the Forms webpage. Employers may also provide a paper copy of the Beneficiary Designation form.

Do not keep copies of the completed forms in your files. Once filled out, the forms contain private information. Also, the member may later change beneficiaries without notifying you. Employees should return completed forms to IPERS.

If you have coverage questions about your new employees, consult the Employer Handbook or call the Employer HelpDesk.
